You can take the girl out of Texas ... but she's going to run into Texans everywhere she goes!
Yesterday, I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Europe. One of the things I do when I'm not marrying people is plan vacations for my business, Women on the Verge Vacations. We just did 10 days in Prague, Vienna and Budapest. A friend of mine swung over from Switzerland for a few nights at the tail end, and we were catching up over a late night beer in our hotel's bar. A couple heard us speaking English and started chatting with us. Guess where they were from? Yup... Texas.
I've run into Texans everywhere: at a deserted surf break on the coast in Mexico, crossing the Atlantic on an ocean liner, and, now, in a bar in Budapest. You name it - we're worldwide.
This couple was from El Paso and were on their honeymoon. They started in London and were ending in Nice - meandering through Europe along the way in a rental car. What fun! And, they told me, that their honeymoon was funded mainly through their wedding registry at Honeyfund.
I got married ages ago and registered for all of the stuff you are supposed to register for. Hello... chafing dish?! We kept our honeymoon super low key because we paid for it ourselves. I love the idea of crowdfunding your honeymoon. You're giving the couple something that they really want! And, Honeyfund lets you thank the gift givers with actual photos of you enjoying the item they purchased. Everyone's happy. Win/Win.
