Recently, I've seen a lot of alternatives to the good old fashioned wedding cake. Cake balls? yup. Cupcakes? sure. Pie? Hell, yes! This photo was taken at Colby & Jordan's wedding at Vista West on Saturday.
Now, where to buy pie in Central Texas? If your wedding is in the Hill Country, you really can't beat Wimberley Pie Company. I used to live in Wimberley, and was pregnant at the time, so all I'm going to say is "WOW".
Another good bet is Royer's Pie Haven. The Royer family runs that amazing little cafe in Round Top and they've recently opened an Austin location (sadly, where the old Toy Joy used to be). When I was visiting the Round Top location, I noticed a "thank you" note from Lyle Lovett's girlfriend pinned to the wall. She loves their pies. Lyle Lovett's girlfriend can't be wrong, now can she?
And, while I haven't tried this place personally, I've heard good things and I love their name: Pie Fixes Everything is also another local Austin option.
