Just sick that Lovesick isn't in Austin.

I'm a fan of fun, well-fitting clothes - and I think that should extend to your wedding day!  For my own dress, I knew *exactly* what I wanted and one quick trip to a big box retail wedding store confirmed that I wasn't going to get it off the rack.  Armed with a sad little sketch I did myself, I went to see a Penny Chappell, a veteran dressmaker in Houston (sorry - no site - I think she may have retired), who worked her magic and turned my sketch into a really cool dress (if I do say so myself!).

Before I found Penny, I fretted a lot about how I could find something that fit, made me feel confident &beautiful, was true to my style, and wouldn't break the bank.  That's a tall order!  These days there are more solutions (I got married in the dark ages).  A lot more lines are doing a more affordable series.  (See my earlier post:  http://letsdoitvows.com/blog/2013/9/3/say-yes-to-the-dress-)  And - I'm thrilled to hear that Mode Merr, a line of retro clothes that I love out of New England is doing a wedding line called The Peggy Cole Collection.  Cool, retro dresses that fit all shapes and sizes (XXS-XXXL)?  YES!

I found out about this collection via Mode Merr's Facebook page and stumbled across this SUPER COOL looking wedding expo, The Lovesick Wedding Expo.  I sure wish they would come to Austin.  Come to think of it, I think I'll send a note ... !

Now *that's* a wedding expo that actually sounds fun.
